spring semester
12 weeks of dancing from April to June, specific dates coming soon!
semester F.A.Q.
Q: where can I find specifics about each offering?
select the class you are excited about in the schedule above - this will take you to the booking page where you can read the full description, review pricing, and book!
Q: do i need a partner for “west coast swing” or “intro to partner dancing”?
no! we will be rotating partners throughout this class - enjoying the ‘social’ part of social dancing. [couples may specifically request not to rotate]
Q: i am worried about winter weather - what is the plan for the inevitable snowstorm?
ahhh - life in montana in the winter! this is a great question. we will be monitoring weather and road conditions during winter weather events and cancelling classes when it feels important for dancer safety! this will often follow school cancellations / weather advisories when applicable.
the same cancellation policy will apply for a teacher absence - we will do our best to schedule a make-up class and apply a class credit for those that cannot attend.
all of that to say - please drive safe! no dance class is worth putting yourself in danger.
we know life happens! especially over a 10-week period. teachers plan around potential absences and while we hope you can make each class - we will help you catch up after any missed classes.
Q: what if i miss a class?
classes with specific levels are included in the name of the class - “new to ballet”, “beg / int” or “advanced”. that being said - we know levels are pretty subjective - so the description of the class will further clarify where you fit.
classes without a level designation in the title are ‘open level’ - meaning the class is welcoming to ALL levels and will be taught inclusively to a wide range of skills.
Q: what level are these classes?
Q: what if class is cancelled?
if class is cancelled by the studio [due to weather or teacher absense] and a make-up class cannot be arranged, you will be pro-rated the amount in a credit onto your account. this credit will not expire and can be used on any classes or events at Rio.
Q: what should i wear to my class?
specifics of what to wear are included in the description of each semester - that being said, WEAR WHAT YOU WANT. this is one of the fun parts about adult spaces, you can wear whatever the heck you want. our suggestions are based on our experience for comfort and success but you are also free to express yourself.
Q: what if the level / style i pick is not what i expected?
we will work with you personally to find a style / level that better suits your dance dreams! though semesters are not refundable, we do want you to be in a class that feels inspiring and safe for you. sometimes it’s a matter of being brave and sticking with something that feels new and uncomfortable, and sometimes a style or level switch will very easily do the trick! <3
