start here!

WELCOME to Rio Dance Studio, a dance studio for adults.

a place where you get to dance and create art, a place where your art is celebrated. we are a studio for adults, by adults - because we believe we need more places to play, and dance.

in our classes and spaces you will find your body and find yourself. you will also find community and humans who are welcoming of all.

our dancers

anyone and everyone, over 18 years old.

[yes, it is actually that simple!]

Rio is for “first-time” dancers and “coming out of retirement” dancers. we leap across the same floor, listen to the same music, and create equally magnificent shapes.

Rio is also for the “this seems more fun than the gym” or “i just need to work on my balance” or especially, “i am craving kind community!”.

we dance, we laugh, we are brave, we are challenged - together!

our classes

at Rio Dance Studio we offer two types of classes: drop-in and semester. this creates options for a variety of levels, schedules, and dreams.

drop-in classes

drop-in classes are offered weekly throughout the year, no commitment required. these classes will have fresh material each week, making it easy to come dance as your schedule allows.

find your new favorite part of your week!

semester classes

semester classes are offered seasonally and enrollment closes after the first week of classes. semesters are designed for progression week to week and investment in community!

NOW BOOKING! spring semester: april 6 - june 20

what class is right for me?

this is a great question - especially when you are exploring dance for the first time! it can be helpful to narrow down your choices by style, level, or schedule.

STYLE: start with the style you are most excited about - no matter how silly it might seem at first! at Rio we teach and move out of joy - start with a class that makes you bubble with joy, the art will flow naturally from this place.

LEVELS: each of our classes will have labels that will help you discern the level of instruction! if there is no level listed in the title [beg, int, adv], the class is “open level” - this means that there will be dancers of all levels in the class. for open level classes, the instructor will offer options for all dancers!

SEMESTER or DROP-IN? knowing which type of class / commitment you want will help you chose which schedule to reference! if you don’t see a class that fits your dreams, check the other schedule and you may find what you are looking for.

remember - it might take a few classes, teachers, or styles before you find what you are looking for!

be kind to yourself and be curious about what you might discover.
